Description

abberior STAR GREEN is a novel fluorescent dye belonging to the group of fluorescein dyes. Characteristic features of this dyes are bright green fluorescent with a fluorescent quantum yield of over 80% and exceptional photostability under STED and confocal imaging conditions. abberior STAR GREEN can be very effectively excited with the 488 nm laser line. For STED microscopy, this dye can be efficiently used with a STED laser wavelength between 590 – 610 nm. Our abberior STAR GREEN is the ideal partner for abberior STAR 440L to obtain optimal 2 color STED results with a single depletion laser. abberior STAR GREEN can substitute dyes like Oregon Green® 488, ATTO® 488 or Alexa Fluor® 488. Best results are obtained with freshly prepared samples.

Single-domain antibodies (sdABs), also known as nanobodies, represent an innovative and promising antibody format. At just 15 kDa, sdABs are 10 times smaller than conventional whole IgG antibodies, making them ideal for high-resolution imaging applications that require small labels, excellent tissue penetration, and exceptional specificity. The combination of abberior STAR dyes—known for their superior brightness and photostability—and FluoTag®-X4 anti-GFP from NanoTag provides an exceptional solution for high-quality, high-resolution imaging.


FluoTag®-X4 anti-GFP, developed by NanoTag, is a unique blend of two sdABs that bind with high affinity and specificity to two distinct epitopes on GFP and its most common derivatives. This enables direct and highly specific fluorescent detection of GFP-tagged targets, eliminating the need for secondary antibodies. This product includes one abberior STAR GREEN FluoTag®-X4 anti-GFP vial as a lyophilized reagent. FluoTag®-X4 anti-GFP is a carefully optimized blend of two high-affinity, monovalent single-domain antibody (sdAb) clones (#1H1 and #1B2), each targeting a distinct epitope on GFP. Before staining, dissolve the reagent in 200 µl of sterile 50% glycerol (v/v) in deionized water to obtain a concentration of 5 µM dye, 1.25 µM of each sdAb.
