abberior STAR 550, FluoTag®-X4 anti-GFP, 200 µl (2.5 µM)

  • Item number: N0304-Ab550-L

Description

abberior STAR 550 was developed for STED and confocal microscopy in the green-orange spectral region. Characteristic features of this dye are its exceptional photostability and brightness. abberior STAR 550 can be very effectively excited with a 518 nm laser. For STED microscopy, abberior STAR 550 can be used most efficiently with a STED laser wavelength between 650 – 775 nm. In combination with abberior STAR BLUE, abberior STAR ORANGE, and abberior STAR RED, abberior STAR 550 enables versatile 4-color imaging across a broad spectral range. Best results are obtained with freshly prepared samples.

Single-domain antibodies (sdABs), also known as nanobodies, represent an innovative and promising antibody format. At just 15 kDa, sdABs are 10 times smaller than conventional whole IgG antibodies, making them ideal for high-resolution imaging applications that require small labels, excellent tissue penetration, and exceptional specificity. The combination of abberior STAR dyes—known for their superior brightness and photostability—and FluoTag®-X4 anti-GFP from NanoTag provides an exceptional solution for high-quality, high-resolution imaging.

FluoTag®-X4 anti-GFP, developed by NanoTag, is a unique blend of two sdABs that bind with high affinity and specificity to two distinct epitopes on GFP and its most common derivatives. This enables direct and highly specific fluorescent detection of GFP-tagged targets, eliminating the need for secondary antibodies. This product includes one abberior STAR RED FluoTag®-X4 anti-GFP vial as a lyophilized reagent. FluoTag®-X4 anti-GFP is a carefully optimized blend of two high-affinity, monovalent single-domain antibody (sdAb) clones (#1H1 and #1B2), each targeting a distinct epitope on GFP. Before staining, dissolve the reagent in 200 µl of sterile 50% glycerol (v/v) in deionized water to obtain a concentration of 5 µM dye, 1.25 µM of each sdAb. Please refer to our protocol for detailed instructions on the staining procedure, handling, and storage.
