abberior STAR 460L, FluoTag®-X4 anti-GFP, 200 µl (2.5 µM)

Item number
N0304-Ab460L-L

Description

abberior STAR 460L is a long Stokes-shift dye optimized for STED and confocal microscopy. It shows a large Stokes-shift of approx. 162 nm and has a broad excitation and emission band: The dye is excited most efficiently in the range of 440 - 490 nm and emits between 560 - 680 nm. For STED microscopy abberior STAR 460L can be used with STED laser wavelengths between 750 - 800 nm. All these features making abberior STAR 460L the optimal dye for multicolor STED experiments, in particular as 3rd color in combination with abberior STAR ORANGE and STAR RED.

NEW: Learn more about our latest variants conjugated to Smart Secondaries® (nanobodies) optimized for efficient labeling and minimal linkage error in STED and confocal microscopy.

Single-domain antibodies (sdABs), also known as nanobodies, represent an innovative and promising antibody format. At just 15 kDa, sdABs are 10 times smaller than conventional whole IgG antibodies, making them ideal for high-resolution imaging applications that require small labels, excellent tissue penetration, and exceptional specificity. The combination of abberior STAR dyes—known for their superior brightness and photostability—and FluoTag®-X4 anti-GFP from NanoTag provides an exceptional solution for high-quality, high-resolution imaging.

FluoTag®-X4 anti-GFP, developed by NanoTag, is a unique blend of two sdABs that bind with high affinity and specificity to two distinct epitopes on GFP and its most common derivatives. This enables direct and highly specific fluorescent detection of GFP-tagged targets, eliminating the need for secondary antibodies. This product includes one abberior STAR 460L FluoTag®-X4 anti-GFP vial as a lyophilized reagent.FluoTag®-X4 anti-GFP is a carefully optimized blend of two high-affinity, monovalent single-domain antibody (sdAb) clones (#1H1 and #1B2), each targeting a distinct epitope on GFP. Before staining, dissolve the reagent in 200 µl of sterile 50% glycerol (v/v) in deionized water to obtain a concentration of 5 µM dye, 1.25 µM of each sdAb. Please refer to our protocol for detailed instructions on the staining procedure, handling, and storage.
